The design firm is based on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and was formed in March of 1987 to
offer professional golf course design services to the southeastern United States. Since the formation of the design firm, Johnston has completed
54 golf course design projects, both new designs and redesigns. We limit our work load to two or three design projects per year depending on the scope of services for each project. This assures our clients that we are always available to serve their needs and pay attention to each project.
Johnston has received awards for several of his designs including
Cherry Blossom GC, Heather Glen Golf Links, Ocean Harbour Golf Links, Jacksonville Golf & Country Club, Old South Golf Links and Covered Bridge Golf Club, owned
and co-designed by Fuzzy Zoeller. Clyde Johnston has also been involved in several golf course renovations including the acclaimed Forest Oaks Country Club, home of the PGA Tour's Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, Savannah Golf Club (formed
1794), Moss Creek Plantation, Sea Pines Plantation's Sea Marsh course
and Sea Pines Country Club and several other courses in the Hilton Head Island area.
